Fibromyalgia is a complicated problems, it is usually characterised by widespread pain in the muscles, ligaments, multiple tender points on the body and fatigue. Other symptoms can include IBS, restless leg syndrome, sensitivity to odours, noises and bright lights. It is more common in women aged 30 to 60.
Magnesium is thought to help. It is found in nuts, seeds, whole grains, leafy vegetables and can be taken as a supplement. Always check with a doctor as there can be side effects.
Vitamin D has been shown to help as some people with fibromyalgia have low levels of vitamin D.
As with any condition it is worth taking a look at your diet and exercise regiment.
